I have found some articles in the discussions here that have had both success and failure connecting using 1) a dual-link DVI and 2) a mini-display port to display port adapters in order to get resolutions above the 1920 x 1080 max for HDMI and the 1920 x 1200 max for single link DVI. Dual DVI is two DVI ports for multiple monitors.

I updated the OS to 11.6.6 (not going to 12 now) and updated the Wacom driver to the newest one and now it displays fine through the HDMI input on the Mac, but I want to be able to use the tablet with the Startec Adapter/Thunderbolt input like before. I plan to purchase a Mac mini (Late 2012 or later) and I want to purchase a monitor other than Apple.

So now I've attached the ASUS monitor directly from it's DisplayPort output to the Thunderbolt input (single high quality cable, no adapter as was suggested here) and when I plug the tablet into the other Thunderbolt input (same setup with the adapter as before), it says no signal, but the pen still moves the cursor on the screen (tablet is also attached by USB-A for data).
